🔵 What is the difference of the 5-Session and 2-Session? 

  • 5-session: is the Complete course - the student takes part from Session 1 to 5.
    • Only 8 students per Batch
  • 2-session: the student can choose 2 out of 5 Sessions to join (E.g Session 3 & Session 5) The sessions & schedule is the same with the 5-session students. Everyone is in the same Batch. 
    •  Make sure to leave your IG handle on the special instructions so we can reach out to you & you can let us know which 2 sessions you will join.

🟡 Course Curriculum

Session 1: Hand building Foundations - Introduction to pinching and coiling techniques. Focus on cylindrical forms (vases/tall cylinders) to build fundamental skills before wheel work.

Sessions 2–4: Wheel Foundations

  • Centering and throwing cylinders
  • Progression from 500g to 1kg of clay (cups and bowls)
  • Trimming practice
  • Advancing to 1–2kg forms (plates or bud vases, depending on progress)

Session 5: Glazing and Firing - Overview of glaze application and firing theory. Catch-up time for unfinished pieces.

This course, led by Marita — founder of Bumi & Ashe — is for aspiring ceramicists and casual artists seeking to deepen their practice with guidance and creative freedom. Grounded in human-centric design, her approach highlights making objects that serve, connect, and elevate daily life.

Marita is a production potter who has designed and executed hundreds of ceramics for fine dining restaurants. She has attended countless trainings and workshops, notably in Iberaki Prefecture Japan, and in Copenhagen, Denmark under renowned potter Eric Landon of Tortus Studio (see photo).

Where is the course held?
All sessions take place at Bumi & Ashe Warehouse, 7230 Malugay, Brgy. Bel-Air, Makati (beside The Zone).

Are the schedules fixed?
Yes. This is a progressive series with a set curriculum and classmates, similar to a block section.

How many pieces will I take home after the course? 

  • 5-sessions: up to 15 pcs 
  • 2-sessions: up to 6pcs

What if I cant make it to a session?

Can I get a refund if I miss a session?
No refunds are offered. Please review the Flexibility & Attendance Policy. As a small business, we dedicate time, space, and an instructor specifically for your course.

Can I reserve with a downpayment?
