Why does Bumi & Ashe include colored glazing and kiln firing in the class fee?
We take pride that We glaze and fire all pottery in-house, and our studio glazes have been developed through years of formulation, testing, and firing in our own kilns
That’s what allows us to include a curated range of colored glazes in the class fee, rather than treating the finish as a separate add-on for this class.
For us, the final finish matters. It’s part of what makes a beginner piece feel complete, beautiful, and like something you’d genuinely want to keep, use, or display.
Can we paint our pieces?
Not in this class. This format is designed to maximize your making time, so we use the session for building more pieces rather than painting them in-studio.
If you’re specifically looking for a painting-centered experience, we also offer classes like Mug on Wheel (link this) or this handbuilding class (no wheel), and we’ll be launching more painting-focused formats over time.
Starting with Curious Wheel, we're launching our Curious Cat program! It’s new series of discovery workshops created specifically for first-timers. Each class is designed to make trying something new feel approachable, fun, and rewarding, no matter your experience level. More info coming soon 🐱👀
